
Musk Regrets Missing Visit from Indian Union Commerce Minister Goyal at Tesla Headquarters

Musk also issued an apology for his inability to meet the minister due to being unwell.

The anticipated meeting between Piyush Goyal and Elon Musk was part of the minister’s US visit, occurring several months after Musk’s meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. During that Musk had conveyed his eagerness to invest in India.
According to reports from Reuters, Tesla aims to establish a manufacturing facility in India, producing a $24,000 car domestically, sourcing additional components locally, and creating a comprehensive charging infrastructure throughout the nation. During Goyal’s visit to the Tesla factory, he engaged with Indian engineers and financial professionals, with photographic evidence capturing him in the backseat of a red Tesla car within the company’s massive facility.

It is on its way to double its components imports from India. Missed Mr @ElonMusk’s magnetic presence and I wish him a speedy recovery.”
Elon Musk wrote “It was an honor to have you visit Tesla! My apologies for not being able to travel to California today, but I look forward to meeting at a future date.”
The discussions between Tesla and India have been ongoing for several months, with the US automaker considering the establishment of a factory in India and expressing interest in obtaining reduced import taxes for certain high-end vehicles.
