Aakash Chopra, a former cricketer from India, found himself at a loss of Rs 33.3 lakh due to an investment deal with Kamlesh Parikh, a cricket shoe entrepreneur, and his son Dhruv. The agreement involved investing the money in a sports shoe business, but it turned into a fraudulent scheme.

Chopra, who has transitioned into a commentator, took the matter to the authorities by filing a complaint, prompting the registration of a case at a local police station in Agra.

As per the case report, Dhruv had received Rs 57.8 lakh from Chopra for the intended investment. Initially, there was an agreement to return the money to Chopra within 30 days. However, even after a year had passed, less than half of the total amount was returned to him.

Attempts to resolve the issue directly with the main accused, Kamlesh, proved futile. Kamlesh assured Chopra that the sum would be reimbursed, purportedly on behalf of his son. However, when the promised amount failed to materialize, legal notices were issued. The Parikhs then ceased all communication with Chopra, resulting in his loss of Rs 33.3 lakh.

This unfortunate incident isn’t an isolated case involving the Parikhs duping cricketers. In a separate incident in February, a cheating complaint was filed against the duo by the father of cricketer Deepak Chahar. The complaint stemmed from allegations made by Chahar’s wife, Jaya Bhardwaj, who claimed that the Parikhs deceived her of Rs 10 lakh under the guise of a business opportunity, leading to the subsequent registration of a case against them.
